Please pray for the Trustees that they would be wise stewards of the Trust and seek to glorify God and build His Kingdom through the use of the financial gifts it receives.
Thank you for your interest in considering supporting the work of the Trust. The continuation of the Trust's work is dependent on the generous giving of supporters. Donations enable the Trust to fund its activities. The current areas of financial need for the Trust are in the following key areas:
New Properties
The Trust is seeking to acquire two new properties within Gerrards Cross with a view to meeting the housing need for members of staff at Saint James.
Debt Repayment
The financial goal of the Trust is to pay down all the debt on its properties so that it can minimise rental costs for churches and also to strengthen its balance sheet in order to continue purchasing properties for gospel ministry.
Grant Making
There will be occasions when the Trust wishes to support church growth initiatives through the making of grant payments to allay day-to-day ministry costs.
There are a number of ways to give to support the work of the Trust.
One-off Gift
A one-off gift will help support the work of the Trust and in particular help finance the cost of a new property or help to repay debt. Ideally your donation would be made via online banking to the Trust's bank account (details shown below) or by cheque payable to 'The Two St James Trust' and address it to The Chairman, The Two St James Trust c/o 4 Pinewood Close, Gerrards Cross, Bucks SL9 7DS.
Regular Gift
Please email info@thetwostjamestrust.org.uk to let us know the intended amount, frequency and start date of your donation. The Trust's bank details are below to enable you to set up a standing order.
Gift Aid
If you are a UK tax payer, it is helpful if you are able to add Gift Aid to your gift because it allows us to claim back 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate. In order for us to be able to claim Gift Aid you need to pay sufficient income tax and capital gains tax during the tax year in which you make the donation(s). The amount of income tax and capital gains tax you pay must be at least equal to the value of Gift Aid to be claimed. For example, if you kindly gave us £1,000 you would need to have paid £250 of income tax and capital gains tax in the current tax year for us to claim Gift Aid on it. Please complete the Gift Aid declaration for one-off gifts and/or regular giving (see link at the bottom of this page).
We would be very grateful if you considered including The Two St James Trust in your will. Making or amending your will to leave a gift to the Trust will support multi-generational property investments enabling faithful Christian ministry for years to come. It is easy to arrange with the help of a solicitor, doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive.
Currently in the UK, you can reduce your Inheritance Tax (IHT) rate from 40% to 36% by leaving 10% or more of your net estate to charity. This reduced rate applies only to the portion of your estate that is above the IHT nil-rate band, not the entire estate.
Types of Legacy Gift
There are four main ways to leave money or gifts in your will, your solicitor will be able to give more details on each:
It’s great to say thank-you to our supporters, so if you do decide to include a gift to the Trust in your will it would be wonderful to hear from you.
All gifts are used exclusively in accordance with our Statement of Faith. If you would prefer to specify a particular ministry, please include an Expression of Wish, explaining any particular ministry you would like your gift to support. We would ask that, wherever possible, you avoid creating a legally restricted gift or permanent endowment as this can limit the ability of the Trustees to react to changing circumstances. If you would like to explore making a gift then we would be happy to discuss this with you in strict confidence.
If you would like to donate to the Trust, please contact us for the bank details by emailing
info@thetwostjamestrust.org.uk, so we know for which project your gift is intended and for our records. Thank you.
